Explanation of Whereabouts
9:35 PM
Although it may appear as such, I have not abandoned the Motherhood ship. No, I’m currently lying in bed and pecking out this message on my phone because I can’t find my keyboard anywhere. I feel like I’m sending an SOS by Morse code. -…-./Send help. ..-…-/ We are not ok.
We have made marked progress in our renovation project as of late and I can see how we could be finished with this seemingly everlasting endeavor in a couple of weeks. I feel like this process could best be described by the words of Handel’s “Hallelujah”- “forever and ever, forever and ever and ever.” When we do get done, we’ll have to “move” back into the house as far as all of the things we packed up and stored to get out of the way- which is almost everything. My guess is that our lives will return to that of a civilized existence in approximately 3-4 weeks. That kind of fancy lifestyle that we’d grown accustomed to, which doesn’t require that one rub the bottom of one’s feet together before getting into bed.
We’ve gotten Carson graduated and we celebrated that and my birthday and Mother’s Day- all last weekend. Ruby went home with Blair because the nail guns, table saws, and air compressors were making her a nervous wreck and we couldn’t have that. Carson has been interviewing and we just have a lot of exciting things going on in our family. So, I’m going to take a little more time to get things leveled out here and and we’ll come back together in early June!
I’ve missed y’all. See you soon.
